I encourage anyone considering migrating to Australia to know that this country truly supports the realisation of dreams and ambitions.

My experience, like that of many others from diverse cultures, has shown that Australia provides a welcoming environment where aspirations can thrive.

In 2008, I moved from India to Australia to support my sister with her education and to explore better business opportunities for myself, particularly in the field of disability support. Starting as a disability support worker in 2009, I worked my way up to various executive roles in the industry. I participated in the 2012-13 National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) pilot programs and trials for a new NDIS model in Victoria, addressing issues within the system and helping to improve it. By 2018, leveraging my experience, I founded Sunrise2Sunrise with my wife, Krishna, whom I met in Australia. Our goal was to personalise disability support, enhancing the quality of life for participants.

Sunrise2Sunrise began with just the two of us and has grown to employ over 700 staff from 36 countries. We are proud of our achievements, including the establishment of 37 disability accommodations. Our work has helped hundreds of participants and their families navigate the complexities of the NDIS.

Migrating to Australia has been a fulfilling experience, enabling me to blend my Indian heritage with Australian culture. The country’s inclusive and welcoming spirit has made it easy to settle and build a sense of belonging. I have been able to maintain my cultural traditions and share them with the broader community. Technology helps me stay connected with my family and friends in India, preserving my sense of identity.

Inspired by Australia, I aim to create a similar health support system in India, fostering synergies between the two countries. My vision is for Sunrise2Sunrise to be a catalyst for global positive change, enhancing ties between Australia and India.

One of my favourite experiences was working for an Australian boss who appreciated Indian culture, making me feel truly accepted. Australia’s embrace of multiculturalism has been instrumental in my positive settlement experience. I encourage new migrants to be open to learning and seeking support from the larger migrant community and various organisations.

At Sunrise2Sunrise, we promote inclusivity and multicultural celebrations to help our diverse staff feel at home. We provide support and guidance to new migrants to ensure their well-being and motivation. Australia’s resources and welcoming nature make the migration journey easier and worthwhile.
