I have been blessed with enormous opportunities which shaped who I am today including having an international career as an opera singer.

In 1950, I relocated to Australia from Alexandria, Egypt, due to the increasing risks faced by Greeks. Balancing assimilation with preserving my identity was challenging during my early years, but I thrived with the opportunities provided in this country.

Overcoming the difficulties, I maintained my Greek language and religion. Despite never residing in Greece, I embraced the various countries I lived in, including a span of 24 years in Germany. I believe that supporting migrants involves encouraging assimilation while respecting and preserving their unique identities.

A significant milestone for me was being selected as one of six Australians to articulate the essence of being in this country during the celebration of the centenary of federation, a moment of immense pride. All members of my family have prospered in Australia.

My educational journey took me to Melbourne University, where I excelled. Winning the Metropolitan Opera auditions opened doors to an international career as an opera singer, allowing me to travel abroad. I consider myself blessed with abundant opportunities that have shaped the person I am today.
